Jim Houghton Memorial Spring Warbler Walk at Westmount Summit

7:00 and 9:00 am, Tuesday 22 May 2007:
The weather was perfect this morning, sunny and warm. Unfortunately it was also perfect for the leaves on the trees and the birds were not singing very much,which made birding a bit more challenging. But the 19 birders who came out managed to find 40 species, although the number of each was disappointing in most cases.

3 Ring-billed Gull, 5 Rock Pigeon, 1 Yellow-bellied Sapsucker, 2 Downy Woodpecker, 1 Northern Flicker, 4 Eastern Wood-Pewee, 6 Least Flycatcher, 3 Great Crested Flycatcher, 1 Philadelphia Vireo, 6 Red-eyed Vireo, 6 American Crow, 5 Black-capped Chickadee, 1 White-breasted Nuthatch, 1 Veery, 1 Hermit Thrush, 1 Wood Thrush, 7 American Robin, 10 European Starling, 1 Orange-crowned Warbler, 2 Nashville Warbler, 3 Northern Parula, 8 Magnolia Warbler, 6 Black-throated Blue Warbler, 2 Yellow-rumped Warbler, 4 Black-throated Green Warbler, 3 Blackburnian Warbler, 3 Black-and-white Warbler, 1 Tennessee Warbler, 2 Bay-breasted Warbler, 4 American Redstart, 5 Ovenbird, 1 Canada Warbler, 1 Scarlet Tanager, 2 Chipping Sparrow, 6 White-throated Sparrow, 8 Northern Cardinal, 6 Rose-breasted Grosbeak, 2 Indigo Bunting, 4 Common Grackle, 1 Baltimore Oriole, 10 American Goldfinch, 5 House Sparrow
