Bird Protection Quebec's Field Trip Report - November 24, 2007

Laval, Bois Papineau, -8 C. sunny and mainly calm 6 observers BIRD(S) of the day.... 2 Barred Owls. In the centre of the woods, north of the tracks. A Barred has been reported for the last month by various people... bird always seemed to fly off when spotted.... once again the reputation of these woods has been maintained!

1 Merlin .. flew right overhead in the parking lot, as we were preparing to leave. Accipiter Spc. .. also flew nearby at the same time. 2 Rock Doves, 6 Mourning Doves, 6 Downy Woodpeckers, 6 American Crows, 40 Black -Capped Chickadees, 5 White-Breasted Nuthatches, 20 + American Robins, 4 European Starlings, 6 American Tree Sparrows, 6 Dark-Eyed Juncos, 6 Northern Cardinals, 40 House Finch, 6 American Goldfinch, 1 Pine Grosbeak... At the parking area, at the same time as the Merlin - Chuck Kling
