Bird Protection Quebec's Field Trip Report - March 15th

Montreal Botanical Gardens

The temperature was cool, -5C, with cloudy skies and intermittent snow. 9 birders were able to find 114 birds of 17 species, the bird of the day being the sharp-shinned hawk which allowed everyone to have great looks for several minutes. The list as follows.

2 Sharp-shinned Hawks, 6 Herring Gull, 4 Rock Pigeon, 1 Downy Woodpecker, 2 Hairy Woodpecker, 12 American Crow, 35 Black-capped Chickadees, 1 Red-breasted Nuthatch, 4 White-breasted Woodpecker, 1 American Robin, 12 European Starling, 10 Cedar Waxwing, 5 Dark-eyed Junco, 7 Northern Cardinal, 1 Common Redpoll, 1 American goldfinch, 10 House Sparrow

An enjoyable trip.
