Bird Protection Quebec's Field Trip Report for Saturday February 21st


Sainte-Anne-de Bellevue

Very few pics from this Field Trip, sadly the White-winged Crossbills stayed far and hidden away - click photo to enlarge - for more photos click here - Milan


Morgan Arboretum field trip. 9 birders; 18 species + Waxwing sp. Pleasant enough day but cold with the wind. We dipped on the Red-bellied Woodpecker (I had seen it on Monday). A few signs of spring: Cardinals and White-breasted Nuthatches counter singing.

Bird of the day: a pair of White-winted Crossbills, feeding next to one another.
Rock Dove, Mourning Dove, Downy Woodpecker, Hairy Woodpecker, Blue Jay, Am. Crow, Black-capped Chickadee, Red-breasted Nuthatch, White-breasted Nuthatch, European Starling, Cedar Waxwing, American Robin, Waxwing sp. Dark-eyed Junco, Northern Cardinal, White-winged Crossbill, Common Redpoll, Pine Siskin, American Goldfinch
