Sightings for Saturday February 27th

New York, Ausable Point: TUFTED DUCK was easy to spot from rte 9 just before the campground entrance. The duck moved often but stayed away from the large rafts of Scaup and instead spent its time in smaller groups of 5-20 Scaup and Goldeneye, closer to shore than the larger rafts were. The water is nice and calm and great visibility allowed us to find a CANVASBACK and a REDHEAD among a raft of ~1000 mixed SCAUP as well - Matt Medler, Jay McGowan, Melanie McCormack

Ivory Gull (Mouette blanche) was still at the breakwater in Rouses Point this morning - Tom & Donna Gooley
