Bird Protection Quebec's field trip report - November 5th

Pointe-aux-Prairies field trip


On a beautiful but cool Saturday 11 birders came. We had a visitor from Newfoundland-Labrador and another from Massachusetts, two very good birders. With a lot of work we managed to find 25 species.

150 Canada Geese, 7 Wood Ducks 12 Gadwall ,4 American wigeon, 8 Black Ducks, 10 Mallard, 2 Green-winged Teal, 1 Black Scoter, 2 Long-tail Duck, 4 Great-blue Heron, 21 Ring-billed Gull, 2 Great Black-back Gull, 3 Mourning Dove, 6 Downy Woodpecker, 2 Hairy Woodpecker, 1 Northern Flicker, 10 American Crow, 13 Black-capped Chickadee, 4 White-breasted Nuthatch, 12 American Robin, 200 European Starling, 5 Northern Cardinal,  1 Purple Finch, 50 Pine Siskin, 9 American Goldfinch

150 Bernaches du Canada, 7 cCanards branchus 12 Canard chipeau, 4 Canard d'Amérique, 8 Canards noirs, 10 Canard colvert, 2 Sarcelle d'hiver, 1 Macreuse à bec jaune, 2 Harelde kakawi, 4 Grands Hérons, 21 Goéland à bec cerclé, 2 Goéland marin, 3 Tourterelle triste, Pic mineur 6, 2 Pic chevelu, 1 Pic flamboyant, 10 Corneille d'Amérique, 13 Mésange à tête noire, 4 Sittelle à poitrine blanche, 12 Merle d'Amérique, 200 Étourneau sansonnet, 5 Cardinal rouge, 1 Roselin pourpré, 50 Tarin des pin, 9 Chardonneret jaune
