Bird Protection Quebec "Field Trip Report" October 18

Hungry Bay, Beauharnois, St Timothée Area

8 birders joined the field trip this morning along the Beauharnois Canal. We were lucky enough to avoir rain all morning (expect a few drops for 3 minuts), making it a wonderful fall morning for birding mild and with limited wind. This allowed us to find a nice variety of waterfowl (22 species), including 3 species of grebe, scoters and eurasian Wigeon.

The ducks were particularly numerous - 1000s of scaups, ring-necked ducks and wigeons - at the 'étang' in St-Louis-de-Gonzague.

Overall, 44 species were observed by the group + 1 specie observed before the start of the trip - Fred Hareau
